Keeping pace in the 21st century economy requires that Vermonters have access to the latest technologies. That is why I advanced the e-State Initiative. This initiative is already helping to achieve my goal of creating a universal network of high speed wireless phone and internet services that reaches every corner of our state by the end of 2010.I remain committed to helping Vermonters compete in the global economy. This year I proposed a number of new initiatives, such as investments for start-up businesses who are developing cutting edge software and an e-communities grant program so that cities and towns can create more local internet content. I will continue to work to find innovate ways to help Vermonters acquire the skills and resources they need to create more high paying technology sector jobs and compete in the global economy.
