Douglas
has vision for average person
Burlington Free Press 9.7.06
Gov. Jim Douglas has a vision
for the future of Vermont: to make Vermont a more affordable state to live.
He wants to lower the tax burden on Vermonters, provide good paying jobs,
make college more affordable, make sure the state has affordable housing,
and provide citizens with universal access to health care at an affordable
rate.
His opponent, Scudder Parker,
wishes to tax Vermonters more and therefore stifle economic and job growth,
has no plan to help students like myself afford college, has no housing
plan, and when he talks about health care he insists on a government run,
single payer system where medical decisions are in the hands of bureaucrats
instead of the doctors you know and trust. On top of all that he wants
to industrialize our precious mountaintops with 300 foot windmills every
two miles to get a sliver of energy at a cost that would ruin our state's
natural beauty.
For me, the choice is easy
who I will vote for in the upcoming election -- Gov. Jim Douglas. He is
a proven leader, with a vision for Vermont that protects the average Vermonter.
